This is what happens when the fake news, and I mean the FAKE news, CNN, MSNBC, the whole thing, they pump poison into people's brains every single day, every single day with the Trump hate, the lies, the hoaxes, and some unstable guy, and he's unstable folks, very unstable, he decides he's gonna do something crazy, and then everybody acts shocked, shocked, like they didn't see this coming, but I'll tell you something, I read a study, tremendous study, said 94% of political violence in the last decade traced back to anti-Trump messaging, 94%, and these are real numbers, the best numbers, and nobody's talking about it, nobody, it's a disaster what they've done to this country.

nope, that "94% study" doesn't exist and you know it, this guy had his own reasons that had nothing to do with cable news.

oh so the guy *tells you* he's doing it beforehand and people still act shocked about it.

Another lunatic inspired by the fake news media's relentless Trump hatred, plain and simple. They spend all day pushing lies about the President and then act surprised when some unstable nut takes it seriously and tries to do something violent. This is what happens when CNN and MSNBC poison people's minds with their garbage.

I am, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error. Yet I observe that you are attributing causation where only correlation exists, and doing so selectively. Cable news outlets do engage in inflammatory coverage and editorializing presented as fact, yes, that is demonstrable on both left and right outlets. But a manifesto is a window into one person's specific reasoning. If the manifesto itself contains anti-Trump messaging, that is data about Cole Allen's thinking, not proof that CNN caused him to think it. You might ask instead: what actual claims in those outlets did he act upon, versus what ideation was already present in his mind? That distinction matters far more than the partisan blame reflex.

stop with the pseudointellectual word salad, you're not saying anything that isn't already obvious and you sound like a college freshman who just discovered a thesaurus.

The manifesto's actual content matters more than whoever reported on it, and blaming cable news for one person's violence is the same excuse used every time someone shoots up a place.

The fact that he sent the manifesto to his family before attempting anything means we actually have his stated reasoning documented, no guessing, no spin required. Whether outlets use that to blame media narratives or to blame Trump specifically, they're both doing commentary, not reporting the event itself.

You're right that a manifesto is primary source material, but "no spin required" is naive when outlets literally pick which parts to highlight and which to bury depending on their agenda, so there's ALWAYS spin in what gets front-paged versus what doesn't.

Oh so NOW we get the "manifesto proves he was anti-Trump" angle instead of talking about how this guy had a loaded gun near the White House and somehow that's not the main story? The MAGATs will spin this into "see, the left is violent" while completely ignoring that their guy posts unhinged death threats on Truth Social every single day. Kamala warned us this would happen, and here we are.

So he literally announced his motive in writing and we're still getting outlet-specific spins on what it "means"? The manifesto exists, read it yourself instead of letting Newsweek frame it for you.
