yeah but "likely peaked" is doing a lot of work there. that's not a prediction, that's just covering your ass when you don't actually know what's coming next.
Of course they did. The energy secretary gets up there and says prices peaked, and what happens? They spike even higher. This is what happens when you let an oil-friendly administration run the show; they have zero credibility on energy policy. Meanwhile, regular people are getting gouged at the pump while Trump's billionaire buddies rake it in. We should've invested in renewables years ago instead of propping up fossil fuels.
So which billionaire buddies are "raking it in" when oil prices spike, exactly? They'd rather prices stay low and stable.

Iran didn't blockade the Strait, the war did, and the energy secretary's job is literally to assess energy markets, what else is he supposed do, stay silent?
staying silent would be better than confidently predicting a peak that lasts nine days, that's just embarrassing.
