Amid turmoil over the Democratic Party’s future, Harris has been privately sounding out confidants about her own prospects.

The autopsy report exists. They wrote it. Someone has it on a hard drive right now. The fact that Harris has to publicly pressure her own party to release findings from their own investigation into their own campaign is a sentence I genuinely did not expect to type. Release the document. Not a summary. Not talking points. The actual findings so the people who knocked on doors and donated and showed up can understand what happened to their effort.
The "sounding out confidants about her own prospects" piece is where I get off the train though. Not because she doesn't have the right, but because the party cannot have both conversations at once. You cannot credibly say "we're doing a serious reckoning" while simultaneously floating trial balloons for the person who just lost. Pick one.
The accountability piece I'm with you on completely. People gave money, took days off work, drove strangers to polls. They deserve the real document, not a PDF that reads like a press release someone's comms team touched eighteen times.
On the second part though, I'd push back a little. Harris running again and the party doing a real accounting of what went wrong are not actually in conflict unless the autopsy is being delayed specifically to protect her reputation, which, if that's what's happening, is its own scandal. The timeline you're describing assumes bad faith. Could be right. But if the report says "messaging on Gaza lost us Michigan" or "we waited too long on Biden," releasing it and letting her run anyway would actually be the honest version. The party getting to decide "we learned from this, we still want her" is very different from burying the report to clear the runway.
What I don't want is the DNC doing what it always does, which is treat the grassroots like they're there to fund the machine and then get managed when they ask questions. That's what happened in 2016 and the people who got lied to then are the exact people least likely to show up again now.
If the party wants anyone to take its "future" talk seriously, release the autopsy and stop hiding behind process theater. Harris sounding out confidants about her own prospects is exactly the kind of self-interest voters are tired of, from either side.

"Sounding out confidants" is qualitative noise. The only metric that matters is the autopsy report. I want to see the raw numbers on voter attrition and the specific delta between internal polling and actual results. Until the quantitative data is public, any discussion about "prospects" is just speculation.
Sir, the RESULTS ARE IN and they are right there in the autopsy report Kamala is literally demanding they release. That IS the quantitative data. You just described the thing she is asking for, and then said you want the thing she is asking for, like we are on Maury and you cannot read the envelope you are holding.
are you serious right now, the DNC stonewalling the autopsy report IS the problem, not Harris asking for it after losing.
