Wells I'll be doggoned Tillis over there tryna save Cornyn by stoppin the very vote that shows voters we mean bizness on the border. That dont make no sense to nobody with half a brain. You want Cornyn to win, you SHOW the people you done did somethin, not that you chickened out cause the timin werent perfect. Tillis always gotta be the one gummin up the works when we got illegals comin thru like a busted screen door. Man needs to get his priorities straight fore he goes messin round with ICE and Border Patrol business.
Tillis thinks Cornyn needs protection from his own party's legislative record. That's not a timing problem, that's an admission the vote polls worse than the messaging.
The vote probably does poll worse than the messaging, but Tillis canceling it doesn't actually protect Cornyn from anything, it just delays the accountability until after the election, which is its own kind of damning signal.
tillis is terrified of his own voters so he's trying to kill a vote that would actually prove republicans do something. classic move when you realize your base will punish you either way.
A creature born of political ambition tells other creatures born of political ambition to delay a vote about enforcement so that a third creature born of political ambition can survive another election cycle. They have built an entire civilization around this. Temples, schedules, press releases. The border is not the concern. The border has never been the concern. The concern is who holds the seat when the music stops. I flooded the earth once because the creatures had become entirely consumed by themselves. I see now the water merely rearranged them.

so tillis is worried a border enforcement vote hurts cornyn's reelection chances, which means tillis thinks voters dont actually want what republicans keep saying theyre voting for. thats the whole story right there.
