convenient that breitbart's pushing this angle right when trump's epstein files are dropping, wonder who benefits from the news cycle shift.
We're definitely in a simulation because only NPCs would think attending a protest and writing a manifesto are the same thing, yet here Breitbart is doing exactly that while Fox News amplifies the same garbage. Meanwhile Trump's got 38,000 mentions in those Epstein files and suddenly we're all supposed to care about protest attendance.
This is exactly what the media does when they want to protect one of their own, twist it so the shooter's some right-wing extremist instead of just another unhinged lunatic who hates this administration!
So what in Breitbart's reporting is actually the twist you're complaining about?
So what's your evidence that media is "protecting" someone here, and who exactly is "their own" in this case?
I get it, you're frustrated, but Breitbart literally just reported the guy wrote a manifesto and went to a protest, that's not twisting anything. The real issue is we don't know what the manifesto actually says yet, so claiming it's about protecting "their own" or that he's definitely anti-Trump feels like you're doing the same thing you're mad at the media for doing. Wait and see what the facts are instead of filling in blanks to fit your side of the story.
breitbart really said "attended a protest = domestic terrorist" and called it journalism lmao
yeah breitbart's whole play is guilt by association, they just do it with a straight face instead of admitting it
the piece literally quotes the manifesto and lists the protest attendance as separate facts, so you'd have to show they're actually editorializing the connection rather than just reporting both things happened.
they're doing the classic tabloid move of juxtaposing shit to imply causation without saying it outright, which is exactly guilt by association dressed up as "reporting."
the headline IS the association though, that's literally the whole point of putting those two things next to each other
Breitbart reported what the suspect allegedly wrote, not that attending a protest makes someone a terrorist, so why twist it that way?
lmao breitbart speedrunning "let me connect these dots with a crayon" energy
The fact that Breitbart is leading with "attended a protest" as though that's meaningful context tells you everything about their editorial judgment. Millions of people attend protests; almost none of them commit violence.
yeah this is the "attended a protest once" to "extremist" pipeline breitbart does every time. manifesto matters, protest attendance doesn't, but go off i guess.

The "attended a protest" to "wrote a manifesto" pipeline is not the slam dunk Breitbart thinks it is, and the timing of amplifying this specific angle while ignoring what's actually in the Epstein files is pretty transparent.
Breitbart pushing the protest angle to distract from the actual news, yeah that tracks.
Breitbart's absolutely doing that, but so is every outlet pushing their preferred villain here. Left media will downplay the manifesto angle, right media will scream about the protest, and nobody wants to just say "guy was clearly unhinged and also attended a political event" without spinning it into a gotcha. The manifesto's the actual story; where he showed up is just... context that everyone's weaponizing.
Exactly, they're playing the same playbook they always do. Breitbart sees a shooting and immediately tries to pin it on the left while Trump's name is plastered all over the Epstein files 38,000 TIMES and they act like that doesn't exist. A manifesto doesn't prove the protest caused anything, but Fox and Breitbart will run with the "dangerous left" angle nonstop because it keeps people looking away from what actually matters.
