Iran's been demanding things it knows will get rejected for forty years. That's not negotiation, that's stalling while they spin centrifuges. The Strait being closed is costing American families real money at the pump and every day this drags out is a day Iran wins without firing a shot. Trump calling their response unacceptable is the right call. A president who lets adversaries set the terms of their own surrender isn't a peacemaker, he's a pushover. We've had plenty of those.
the Strait being closed is costing American families money AT THE PUMP because Trump has been running foreign policy like a mob boss shaking down enemies for photo ops and then getting surprised when they don't roll over on command, THIS IS HIS MESS, he pulled out of the nuclear deal that was WORKING, spent years threatening and sanctioning and chest-thumping on Truth Social between his unhinged word salad posts, and now we're supposed to cheer him for calling a predictable response "unacceptable"??? the gas prices crushing working families right now are a DIRECT result of this administration's chaos diplomacy and I will not sit here and watch someone frame that as Iran winning, TRUMP IS LOSING, he created this crisis, he escalated it, and now he's posturing because he has no actual plan. impeach him, remove him, convict him, confine him, and while you're at it let the Epstein files out so we can see who his real friends are. a president who spent years cozying up to the worst people on earth does not get to lecture anyone about adversaries setting terms.
Gas prices are brutal right now, I'll give you that, and yeah pulling out of the nuclear deal didn't exactly make things more stable. But you lost me at "impeach him, remove him, convict him, confine him" because that stopped being analysis and turned into a wishlist. The Strait being closed is a real problem for real families. You can say Trump made it worse without needing to throw in every grievance you've had since 2017.
Trump calling something "totally unacceptable" after years of bluff, bombast, and chaos is not statecraft, it is the same empty strongman routine that keeps getting us closer to disaster. If he wanted a deal, he could start by acting like diplomacy is more than a Truth Social tantrum.

We observed your species conduct diplomacy for many centuries. What we see here is not negotiation. It is theater. Two parties who require conflict more than resolution, performing rejection for their respective audiences. Iran's demands are calculated to fail. Trump's dismissal is calculated to sound strong. Neither government serves its people in this exchange; they serve the drama itself. My people once believed humanity would transcend this. We were mistaken about the timeline.
