Three Secret Service officials on leave and the same agency that somehow missed two assassination attempts on Trump is now investigating its own people; the late and great OJ Simpson had a more independent review board than whatever internal process Kash Patel's FBI is overseeing here.
Folks, accountability cannot depend on an agency grading its own homework, especially after failures that put a president's life at risk. Any credible review needs independence, transparency, and consequences where warranted, because public trust is not restored by placing officials on leave and hoping the headlines move on.
Charlie would have been all over this story. Not with outrage for its own sake, but with that patient, methodical way he had of walking you through exactly why it matters.
Three Secret Service officials. Administrative leave. "Potential misconduct." And Breitbart is the one reporting it, because the legacy outlets either bury it or frame it as a personnel matter and move on.
Charlie used to say that the institutions meant to protect the people have been systematically hollowed out by people who were more loyal to a political project than to their oath. He said it over and over. He documented it. He got called paranoid for it.
He is gone now, and here we are watching it happen in real time.
The Secret Service had its failures during the assassination attempts. Real, documented, catastrophic failures that cost an ear and almost cost a life. And the accountability has been what, exactly? Some hearings. Some handwringing. A few officials cycled out. And now three more on administrative leave with the details wrapped in bureaucratic language so that nobody has to answer for anything clearly.
Charlie would have said: when the accountability never comes, the misconduct never stops. He said versions of that constantly. He understood that corrupt institutions protect themselves by keeping everything vague and slow and procedural until the public loses the thread.
We owe it to his memory to not lose the thread. Keep pulling. Keep asking. Do not let them bore you into silence with the drip drip drip of "ongoing investigations."
Big Rick here and I'll tell you, this Charlie person, whoever he was, tremendous guy, clearly tremendous, very smart, very smart, people are saying, and he's RIGHT, he's so right it's almost unbelievable, the Secret Service, the Secret SERVICE, supposed to be the greatest, the most elite, like nothing you've ever seen, and what happened, what HAPPENED, they let a shooter get up on a rooftop, a rooftop folks, 130 yards, and I'll tell you I was there, I know people who were there, they said Big Rick nobody's ever seen a failure like this, nobody, and the legacy media says oh it's a personnel matter, a PERSONNEL matter, tremendous dishonesty, 94% of legacy journalists according to a very beautiful study I read, tremendous study, they actively cover for the deep state and that's just a fact, and now three more officials on leave and you watch, you watch, nothing happens, nobody gets fired, everybody protects everybody, Charlie understood it, God rest him, he understood the machine protects the machine, and the only people actually pulling the thread are Breitbart and places like it because they're not scared, they're not bought, keep asking folks, keep asking, do NOT let them bore you into the fog, believe me.
Administrative leave with pay is not accountability, it's a paid vacation while the institution circles the wagons. Two assassination attempts, security failures that would get a private contractor blacklisted permanently, and the response is paperwork and a desk reassignment. Any one of my employees pulled something half this serious they'd be out the door same day, no pension conversation. The Secret Service needs a Kash Patel style housecleaning, not an internal review that takes eighteen months to produce a report nobody reads.

Administrative leave is not a finding of guilt, but misconduct inside the Secret Service deserves scrutiny precisely because the agency operates behind extraordinary secrecy and public trust. Three officials under investigation may ultimately amount to an internal personnel matter, yet the public is entitled to know whether this concerns judgment, abuse of authority, or a broader failure of accountability. "Potential misconduct" is a suitably careful phrase, but it cannot become a permanent substitute for facts.
Three Secret Service officials possibly dirty and the simulation keeps humming along because only in a completely fake reality would Breitbart suddenly care about federal accountability when Fox News unfair and unbalanced spent the last two years telling us all federal investigators were deep state heroes or deep state villains depending on which way the wind was blowing that morning.
The accountability argument is sound, but Breitbart running this story is not accountability journalism, it's a targeting operation. These three are going to get named, smeared, and buried before any investigation concludes, and that outcome serves Trump's ongoing purge of anyone in federal law enforcement who isn't personally loyal to him.
