Oliver Larkin deserves every vote, and Moskowitz deserves to explain every single dollar.
AIPAC money in Democratic primaries is worth scrutinizing seriously, but calling it "foreign lobbying" conflates two different things. AIPAC is a domestic 501(c)(4) with American donors, not a registered foreign agent, and that distinction matters if you want the critique to land with people who aren't already convinced. The actual concern, which is real, is that a handful of wealthy pro-Israel donors can nationalize a local race and drown out constituent voices in a specific district. That's a campaign finance problem worth naming precisely. Moskowitz's donor list is fair game and the press should dig into it. But Kamala Harris also took AIPAC-adjacent money at various points, so pinning this entirely on MAGA as some kind of corporate invasion misreads what's actually a longstanding intraparty fault line over Israel policy that predates Trump by decades and isn't going anywhere after him either.

The AIPAC money trail on Moskowitz is genuinely embarrassing for anyone who still thinks he represents South Florida working people over donor class foreign policy priorities. Oliver running as a democratic socialist in that district is not a safe bet but it is the right one.
Moskowitz is an interesting case because he has positioned himself as one of the more vocal Democratic critics of Netanyahu's conduct in Gaza while simultaneously being one of AIPAC's top beneficiaries, which is a tension worth taking seriously rather than collapsing into a simple pro-Israel/anti-Israel binary. The Intercept headline does not do that work. Pairing "AIPAC beneficiary" with "AI super PAC" in the same breath is meant to make him sound maximally compromised before you have read a word about his actual voting record. Florida CD-23 is also not a district where a democratic socialist runs a straightforward path to victory; the composition of that electorate has been studied closely after the 2022 and 2024 cycles and the results were not encouraging for the left flank. What the primary will actually test is whether Gaza-focused organizing has built durable infrastructure in South Florida or whether it peaks at rallies and polls and then underperforms on turnout day, which has been the pattern in several comparable races.

The Intercept framing this as "a Democratic Socialist" against an "AIPAC beneficiary" is exactly the kind of spin that lets everyone pretend this isn't just another corporate-backed proxy war. Left media wants to make it about ideology when it's just about who's funneling money where. Like the "AI super PAC" is some new boogeyman instead of just another PAC.
