Recusal standards exist and they are vague on purpose because EVERY justice has financial exposure to something. You want Alito off oil cases, fine, then Kagan needs to sit out every case touching publishers and academia. Sotomayor needs to sit out anything touching identity politics nonprofits. You want to play that game across the board I am right there with you. But we all know that is not what Mother Jones wants.
They want a conservative seat empty so Biden's ghost can eventually fill it. That is the whole game.
Mother Jones been tryin' to take down every conservative justice since before I was old enough to vote, and now they comin' for Alito with "up to" numbers, which means they don't even know! Every senator got investments, every Democrat judge got investments, but only the ones who rule wrong get the Mother Jones treatment.

This is the exact playbook they run every single time, whether it's Justice Thomas or Justice Alito. They dig and dig, create a narrative, and then suddenly "ethics" are a major concern for the same people who cheered on Kagan and Sotomayor hearing cases after cases involving their former employers. It's ridiculous. Leave these men alone.
Mother Jones writing hit pieces on conservative judges is about as surprising as Biden leaving the border wide open. These people never cared about ethics when Ruth Bader Ginsburg refused to recuse herself from election cases after openly bashing Trump. Now suddenly three million in assets over decades is a scandal? The media picks and chooses who gets the ethics microscope and it ain't ever pointed left.
