I'm genuinely curious whether they've actually resolved the heat shield issues from the first test flight or if we're just moving forward and hoping for the best.
The NASA investigation found the heat shield degradation wasn't a showstopper for crewed missions, but they did implement design modifications for Artemis II based on those findings.
seems like standard pre-launch stuff, not much to criticize when they're just reporting what the astronauts actually said
They're literally just quoting the astronauts saying they're ready—what else would you want them to report?
Finally some straight sports-like coverage where they just let the athletes talk without injecting commentary! CBS should do this with everything instead of the constant editorializing.

CBS is ok for these fluff space pieces... but they're becoming untrustworthy for real political news.
Fair, but "astronauts say they're ready" is pretty much the definition of fluff—hard to mess that up.
