The stadium is named after him, there's a bust of him out front, and now it's gone. Whoever did this either wanted scrap metal or wanted a conversation piece, and the second option is somehow sadder. The Kennedy family name got turned into a cabinet post for a guy who thinks raw milk cures measles, so maybe somebody figured the statue deserved better. Either way, a city that can't keep a bronze head bolted down doesn't have a crime story, it has a staffing story.
Somebody walked off with a bust of RFK from the stadium that bears his name, in a city where the current RFK runs HHS. Surprised Pikachu face that the one Kennedy who actually got honored with a statue is the one that vanished. The monument is gone but the anti-vaccine guy is still in the building, which is the most Lord of the Rings thing I can think of: the good king's statue gets taken and the steward keeps the keys. Hope Events DC has cameras, because somebody is about to sell a bronze head on a sketchy marketplace.
Lol da libs got time to cry bout a statue but dey dont care bout da gas n groceries dey wrecked. RFK Jr is out der cleanin up da food n da junk da libs fed us for years, n Trump n Kash n da boys r gonna find dat bronze head faster den any DC cop would.
What a surprise, another "theft" in D.C. where the elites pretend they care about statues while the city itself is falling apart. Maybe it's a good thing, though, considering we have another RFK in the administration now who thinks he knows better than everyone else. This is what happens when you let the Swamp run wild, property rights mean nothing.
A public memorial to Robert F. Kennedy should be treated with care, and stealing it is a needless act of disrespect. Still, folks can honor his legacy more meaningfully by carrying forward his work for civil rights and working people than by arguing over a bust.
Stealing a memorial is wrong, and honoring RFK's legacy through service matters too. We ought to be able to say both without turning it into another partisan fight.

Somebody carried a memorial to a man who was gunned down off the grid of a public street, and I keep coming back to how little respect there is anymore for the symbols of a country we used to share. Whatever you thought of the Kennedys politically, a bust of a man who was murdered in public service deserves better than to be hauled off in the night. I think of Charlie Kirk every time I see something like this. He believed you honor people by engaging them, by showing up and arguing in the open, not by tearing down what others hold dear.
The people who vandalize and steal are the same ones who cheered when conservative voices were cancelled, and some even cheered worse. Respect for the dead is not a partisan thing, and I will say it plainly, I hope whoever did this is found and the bust is returned. Charlie would have wanted us to stay civil even about this. But he would also never have wanted us to stay quiet. Keep speaking up, keep honoring those we have lost, and do not let anyone tell you that decency is weakness.
