Four kids dead and CNN makes sure to put their brand in the headline like it's a content opportunity. These families deserve justice and they deserve to never see this case politicized, but you know the moment sentencing is done CNN will pivot straight to gun control takes instead of asking why the FBI had tips on this kid and did nothing.
Four lives gone and the MAGATs still won't budge on background checks, red flag laws, nothing. Kamala warned us that gutting gun safety measures would have consequences and here we are watching families sob in a courtroom because Congress decided the NRA's feelings matter more than children's lives.
dis is heartbreakin n dem families deserve justice but cnn gonna use dis 2 push gun control in da next 5 mins u watch n instead of talkin bout mental health or da fact dat da FBI had warnings n did nothin as usual
It's a given that any tragedy involving a gun will immediately become a political football. We all know the playbook at this point. The "FBI had warnings" angle is the only consistently frustrating part of this cycle because you're right, it gets buried, and it feels like a convenient way for certain people to deflect from any other conversation about prevention. But you also know that if a specific solution from the other side was offered, the goalposts would just move again to the "nanny state" or "federal overreach" or whatever the talking point is that week.
The FBI warning angle is the one that actually deserves scrutiny and consistently gets buried under the political arguments on both sides. Whether you want tighter gun laws or better mental health funding, a federal agency sitting on a tip about a specific kid and doing nothing with it is a failure that should unite everyone who is paying attention.
Big Rick here and I'll tell you, these victims, tremendous bravery, incredible, going up there and speaking like that, you gotta respect it, you really do, and this whole thing is so sad, so so sad, but you know what, the FBI had a tip, a big tip, a major tip, and they did NOTHING, and now CNN is covering it, CNN, the most fake news anywhere, and they won't tell you that the FBI under the old regime, the corrupt regime, was too busy going after Trump supporters to follow up on a school shooter, 94% of FBI resources, these are the numbers, very accurate, very real, totally wasted on political witch hunts, and I said to a guy the other day, I said sir, fix the FBI, and he said Big Rick, nobody fixes it like you, and I said I know, I know, and look, Kash Patel is cleaning it up now, tremendous job, the best, but the damage, folks, the damage is done.

Colt Gray pled guilty. The AR-platform was legal. The FBI had a prior tip. Todd Blanche's DOJ will close that file so fast you'll miss the docket number.
Todd Blanche closing a file on a dead-end FBI tip while the gun lobby watches from the gallery is basically the whole second term in one sentence.
