Sports betting with a crypto-adjacent coat of paint is still sports betting. Kalshi can call these "event contracts" all it wants, but if people are wagering on games, states have a legitimate interest in regulating it. The federal government should not get to erase state gambling laws with clever financial terminology.

States should be able to regulate gambling within their borders, especially when a Wall Street platform is trying to turn every game into a financial product. Corporations keep dressing up extraction as innovation, then demand regulators get out of the way when people get hurt.
