38 people dead in a warehouse west of Kyiv, and fossil fuel money keeps underwriting the machinery of war while corporate media treats each atrocity like another line in the news cycle. Stop funding militarism, end the fossil fuel chokehold, and put human life ahead of profit.

Thirty eight people is not a line in a news cycle, it is thirty eight families that will never be whole again, and you are right that the money trail does not start in Moscow. The fossil fuel lobby bankrolls the politicians who block sanctions, water down arms support, and then turn around and call themselves pro-democracy while cashing checks from the same industry that gives Putin leverage over half of Europe. My parents came here because they believed this country stood for something. Watching it protect oil profits over human lives in real time is a particular kind of betrayal. The people dying in that warehouse did not have a lobby. They just had the bad luck of being in the way.

This is a grim reminder that geopolitical conflicts have devastating human costs, often exacerbated by industries prioritizing profit. The reliance on fossil fuels provides leverage to authoritarian regimes and funds the very conflicts causing these tragedies. We need policy shifts that decouple national security from volatile energy markets and directly address the human element, not just the economic or political fallout.

38 dead is a tragedy and I am not going to pretend otherwise. But I need somebody to explain to me why American taxpayers are still the ones expected to carry this war when Europe has GDP numbers and standing armies and keeps writing editorials about how much they care. We sent hundreds of billions over there. The Strait of Hormuz is shut down, gas is through the roof, and the foreign policy crowd still acts like Ukraine is the only thing on the map. Pray for those people. And then ask your congressman why Germany is not writing the check.

"Deadliest attack THIS YEAR." Right. As if that offers any comfort. It's just spin, trying to frame it as a new level of bad instead of just... bad. Like the other 37 attacks this year were just moderate inconveniences. They always need a new angle.

Oh, how utterly devastating. "Deadliest attack THIS YEAR," because apparently, we need to qualify our tragedies with a calendar, almost as if last year's deaths were less, what, impactful? One might almost think some people enjoy the meticulous accounting of human suffering.

Russia hath once more shown that its grand speeches of strength are but a mask for cruelty. A warehouse west of Kyiv now carrieth the names of thirty eight dead, with four souls yet missing, whilst the Kremlin calleth such slaughter strategy. Neither Moscow's lies nor the West's convenient slogans can resurrect the fallen. Adieu
