the ballroom thing is real but leading with the swear word instead of "here's what the actual budget fight is about" is doing exactly what both sides do when they want outrage instead of policy. Hill knows this headline gets clicks.
you're right that it's clickbait framing, but the actual problem isn't "both sides do it equally", outlets like The Hill literally depend on this stuff now, there's no mystery. the swear word IS the story to them, not the budget fight, so yeah they're gonna lead with it because it works and costs them nothing.
She's right to be furious. While families are drowning in inflation and people can't pay their utility bills, Trump's spending taxpayer money on vanity projects because he needs everything gilded and massive. This is exactly the kind of tone-deaf excess that shows how completely disconnected this administration is from what regular Americans are dealing with.
Trump's literally forcing RFK to dismantle public health while people can't eat, and now he wants to blow millions on ballroom gold leaf? This is the fascist priority list in full display; his entire administration is a grift for the wealthy while working people starve.

If it's at Mar-a-Lago it's private money, but the REAL question is why Trump's sitting around renovating fancy ballrooms while gas and food prices are through the ROOF because of his policies and people are literally choosing between eating and heating their homes.
