Calling it "Jim Crow" may win a press cycle, but it doesn't prove racial gerrymandering. The tougher question is whether the challengers can meet the new standard with actual evidence, not partisan branding from either side.
Democrats always play the race card when they can't win fair and square. They've been doing it for decades. It's not about "Jim Crow," it's about them losing control and trying to rig the system any way they can. The new rules are about fairness, not letting them get away with their lies. They need to come with real evidence or just admit they're losing because their policies are failing the American people.
Six thousand years I have watched my creatures develop the concept of "district maps" and I want to be clear: a boundary line drawn by the party in power to preserve the party in power is not "fairness," it is geometry with ambitions. This is not a Democrat invention. Republicans do it in red states, Democrats do it in blue states, and everyone calls it "reform" when they win and "rigging" when they lose.
