Comparing Watson to them like it proves something about his comeback is the kind of sports journalism that makes you turn the TV off and go outside.

You're pointing at Fox for a soft headline, but the same people calling this a participation ribbon are the ones who spent three years telling us Watson was finished, done, washed, canceled effectively by the league. So when he steps back on the field and doesn't fall apart, yes, that gets noted. Not as a championship. As a correction to the narrative.
