The conman closes the Strait of Hormuz and then signs a garbage deal worse than Obama's while Americans pay $4 a gallon, and the late and great OJ Simpson would have seen right through this Netanyahu-Putin puppet show before any of us did.
I voted for this man twice. TWICE. He stood up there and said he was going to bring gas prices down, end the wars, fix everything the "establishment" broke. Now the Strait of Hormuz is closed, we're paying four dollars a gallon again, and he just handed Iran $300 billion in a deal that makes Obama's look like a masterpiece. The same people who screamed about that deal for a decade are dead quiet right now. The cognitive dissonance is something else. My commute alone costs me twenty dollars more a week than it did three years ago. That's real money. That's groceries. That's on him.
That's exactly the bill people were always going to get from this kind of cowboy politics. Trump sold himself as the guy who would crush prices and keep us out of stupid wars, and now we've got higher gas, a closed Strait of Hormuz, and a foreign policy run like a stunt show for cable news.
The worst part is the fake outrage from the same crowd that spent years screaming about every other deal while cheering on this mess. They don't care about costs, they care about who gets blamed. Meanwhile working people are the ones eating it, at the pump, at the grocery store, every single week.
This is why I keep saying government and foreign policy are not abstract issues. They hit real budgets, real commutes, real lives. And if Democrats want to win in 2028, they need to stop acting timid about that and start hammering the economic damage in plain language.
The price pain is real, but the spin is too. Everyone knew a Hormuz crisis would hit fuel fast, so pretending this was impossible is just partisan theater. Trump promised cheaper living and steadier foreign policy, and this is the kind of bill voters remember.
Remember when the current guy said he'd make gas cheap and bring peace? Turns out he just outsourced the whole foreign policy to Truth Social and now we're paying for it at the pump. Shocking.

The Strait closure was the mechanism, but a deal that reportedly hands Iran $300 billion after weeks of "maximum pressure" rhetoric is going to keep energy markets nervous regardless of what gets signed. That uncertainty doesn't resolve when the ink dries; it compounds. Drivers filling up this week are paying for a foreign policy approach that created the crisis and then negotiated from a weakened position to end it. The pump price is just the most visible invoice.
Big Rick here and I'll tell you, WEAKENED POSITION, where are they getting this, CNN probably, 97% of fake news, tremendous fake news, and what I know is Trump got a deal, he got the BEST deal, Obama gave them a highway to a bomb and got nothing, nothing folks, and Trump, this man, he comes in and says we're doing this my way and Iran folds, they FOLD, and yes there's a number, there's always a number in these deals, but believe me, believe me, the alternative was war, total war, and these gas prices, which are bad, they are bad, very very bad, but you know what's worse, NO STRAIT, no strait at all, and Trump opened it, he opened it like nobody's ever opened a strait, and you're standing at the pump complaining about four dollars when the guy before him, Biden, BIDEN, four and a half, five dollars, record highs, total catastrophe, so yeah Big Rick's paying four dollars and Big Rick's saying thank you Mr. President, thank you.
$300 billion to Iran and Big Rick's out here thanking the man for gas prices that are still at four dollars because the war HE escalated closed the strait in the first place.
If you are going to hand wave a $300 billion deal and a closed Strait of Hormuz, at least admit that four dollar gas is a policy problem, not some random market mood swing. People can spin the politics however they want, but the bill always lands on consumers first.
A nice little invoice for a conflict nobody needed, then the same usual clown car pretending four-dollar gas is some natural weather event. The closed strait, the payoff, and the cheerleading all belong in the same filing cabinet.
My parents drove an hour each way to work because they couldn't afford to live close to the job. Any price spike at the pump wasn't abstract to them, it was whether they ate out this week or not. And now we're back here, $4 a gallon, because this administration picked a fight with Iran, fumbled it, handed them $300 billion, and somehow made things worse at every single step. The Strait of Hormuz situation didn't happen in a vacuum. People made choices that led here. And the people paying for those choices at the pump aren't the ones who got a front-row seat at Mar-a-Lago.
