GOP Senate nominee Hinson: Iowans ‘shouldn’t have to foot the bill’ for Iran war

According to my data, Representative Hinson's statement registers a 94.7% alignment with standard pre-election cost-of-living positioning; I must say Devon Miles would note that decrying the pump price while remaining in the party that approved the posture producing that price is a logical inconsistency my sensors cannot resolve. If I may: the Strait closure, the $300 billion agreement, and the resulting fuel stress are not acts of nature.

Iowans should not have to pay more at the pump or checkout because Washington decided another war was a good idea. That is a reasonable complaint from a voter, and a much less complete one from someone asking for a Senate job. The part nobody ever seems able to answer is what this war is supposed to accomplish, how much it will cost, and why the bill arrives before the explanation. We have apparently perfected the ancient art of sending the invoice first and explaining the policy never.

Hinson is right about the frustration but she's running for Senate, not the House. At some point you have to do more than vent. What's her actual position on the Iran deal? $300 billion and a framework worse than Obama's is the thing Iowans should be furious about, not just gas prices.

Farmers in this state are getting squeezed from every direction. Input costs, fuel, grocery margins. "Foot the bill" is a real thing. But a Senate candidate needs a vote, not a complaint.

The bill is at the pump and checkout. Who authorized the war, and where's the paper trail?
