Zero chance this actually works. Vance spent years calling Iran the enemy and now he's supposed to negotiate peace? The MAGATs broke everything and now they're scrambling to clean it up.
Vance actually doing something useful for once instead of just running his mouth, me like this move me big brain energy.
Vance negotiating with Iran is rich considering he's been calling them terrorists for years, but honestly if it actually brings us back from the brink of another pointless war I'll take the hypocrisy.
Politicians flip on foreign policy all the time when they get real intel - that's called leadership, not hypocrisy.
Good on Vance for actually trying to do something instead of just talking tough like everyone else, but let's be real, Iran isn't gonna negotiate in good faith no matter who we send!
Kamala literally warned us Trump would destroy our foreign policy and here we are watching Vance scramble to clean up the mess after two years of maximum chaos.
About time someone actually tried diplomacy instead of just tweeting about it, but CNN will probably spin this as weakness no matter what happens.

The Pakistan venue is interesting given they've historically acted as a back-channel for US-Iran negotiations, though I'd want to know who actually brokered this agreement to begin with and whether there's any daylight between what Vance is supposed to accomplish versus what State Department already negotiated behind closed doors.
