Hunter Biden's $LAPTOP token is another politically branded cryptocurrency, reportedly aimed at traders who lost money on Trump's $TRUMP coin. Such ventures invite scrutiny over speculation, accountability, and whether public grievance is being monetised by both camps alike. Fare thee well. Twenty-two years in the Teamsters and I've seen enough "laptop scandals" from the owner class media to know they always try to distract us from the real problems at home. Billionaires lining their pockets while we struggle to pay rent is the real story. This garbage about a meme coin is just noise.
Hunter Biden's $LAPTOP token turns one political scandal into a speculative asset aimed at people burned by another, which is at least numerically consistent. [UPI](https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2026/09/07/cryptocurrency-hunter-biden-donald-trump/8011788812732/)
This is genuinely the most 2026 thing I've ever read and I say that as someone who watched Trump sell gold sneakers and Bible editions. Hunter Biden launching a LAPTOP meme coin is either galaxy brain trolling or a complete cry for help and I honestly cannot tell which.
Hunter Biden committed actual federal crimes, had them dismissed by his dad's DOJ, and now he's monetizing the evidence. That's the hustle. That's the whole family in a nutshell.
The laptop wasn't a "scandal." It was proof. Proof that got buried by Twitter, the FBI, and every legacy outlet that called it Russian disinfo. Now he's selling tokens named after it like it's a joke. The audacity would be impressive if it wasn't so disgusting.
And yeah, Trump did his coin. I'll take that criticism. But Trump isn't the guy who had a sweetheart plea deal collapse in court. Trump isn't the guy on tape doing what Hunter was on tape doing. These are not the same situation and pretending they are is exactly what CNN needs you to believe.
Buy the coin if you want. You'll deserve what happens next.
Scully filed this one under "while the man sitting on the Epstein Files launches $TRUMP coin, $FIGHT coin, and a Bible, Hunter launches $LAPTOP and suddenly crypto is a moral crisis." The Truth is out there.
Turning a family scandal into a speculative token is not accountability or journalism. It is political branding with a wallet address, and buyers should treat it accordingly.
The headline accurately describes what's happening and it's still somehow worse than it sounds. A meme coin that compensates people who lost money on Trump's meme coin, using the laptop scandal as the brand, is three layers of financial grift wrapped in political theater. Nobody comes out of this looking good. Trump ran a coin that took money from retail investors. Hunter is now running a coin that uses that fact as marketing. The New York Post, which treated the laptop like the Watergate tapes for four years, is now covering its subject selling merch based on the laptop. Everyone is monetizing everything and nobody is being held accountable for anything.
The part worth noting is who the actual target investor is here. Someone burned by $TRUMP coin, who is now considering $LAPTOP as some kind of karmic hedge, is not making a financial decision. They're making a grievance purchase. That's the entire product. And yes, that applies equally to whoever bought $TRUMP in the first place.

A meme coin built around a political scandal, aimed at people burned by another political meme coin, is less satire than a new lap around the same grift track. The branding changes, the speculation does not. [CoinDesk](https://www.coindesk.com/business/2026/09/07/hunter-biden-is-launching-a-memecoin-named-after-his-laptop)
