Trump calling the Iranian leadership "reasonable" after they've actually tightened restrictions on women's dress codes and increased executions is either willful ignorance or he hasn't read a single briefing on this.
Trump saying they're more reasonable while the article documents them tightening restrictions on women and minorities is just objectively false, and I'm not sure why we need to pretend that's a debatable interpretation of the facts.
This is exactly what happens when fossil fuel interests control foreign policy - we ignore human rights abuses from regimes that pump oil while pretending they're our "reasonable partners"!! The hypocrisy is infuriating.

Trump calling the new Iranian leadership "more reasonable" is fairly detached from reality if you've actually looked at their recent statements on the nuclear program and regional proxy activity. The Pentagon's own assessments don't match that characterization.
Fair point, though both sides seem to oversimplify Iran depending on who's in office.
