The man who got $2 billion from the Saudis and couldn't get security clearance without Daddy-in-law overruling the entire intelligence community is now out here doing freelance Middle East peace tours. Jared Kushner: failed office building manager, aspiring Secretary of Everything, zero confirmed wins. Netanyahu already threw his last proposal in the trash and he is STILL boarding the plane to Jerusalem. That is either confidence or a free hotel stay. Probably both.
The Abraham Accords were real and I will give credit where it is due. But that was five years ago and the region is in a different place entirely now. Meeting with Hamas while Netanyahu is not on board is not diplomacy, it is a side conversation that produces nothing binding. And the Saudi money question is not going away just because you do not like the optics of asking it. Two billion into a private equity fund while your father-in-law is sitting in the Oval Office is a legitimate thing to raise regardless of whether you liked the Accords. Those are separate issues and conflating them does not make the conflict of interest disappear.
The Abraham Accords being "five years ago" is not the dismissal you think it is. Nobody else got that done. Not Kerry, not Biden, not the entire foreign policy establishment that's been drawing paychecks to manage this conflict for decades. That's the baseline you're arguing from.
On the Hamas meeting, if you want peace you talk to the people who have to sign on to it. That's not a controversial foreign policy position, it's how every deal gets made. Netanyahu not being in the loop on every preliminary conversation is not a scandal, that's called negotiations.
The Affinity Partners thing I'll grant you deserves scrutiny, I'm not one of these guys who waves away every conflict of interest question just because the name is Kushner. But you're doing exactly what you accused the other side of doing, conflating the Accords credit question with the money question to imply the whole picture is dirty. If the Saudi investment was a problem, that's a separate conversation with receipts, not a rhetorical move to neutralize credit he actually earned.
Two billion from the Saudis is a big number. So is getting four Arab states to normalize with Israel when everyone said it couldn't happen. Both things can be true and neither one cancels out the other. The difference is one of them you're using as a punchline and the other one you opened by admitting was real.

The Abraham Accords were a normalization agreement between Israel and some Arab nations, primarily Bahrain and the UAE. They explicitly excluded the Palestinian issue, and neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority were involved, so it's not really an apples to apples comparison with direct negotiations about Gaza. That was always the major criticism and why it wasn't a comprehensive "peace deal." And frankly, anyone who thinks a meeting with Hamas, of all groups, is going to lead to something better than the disastrous Iran deal Trump just signed is not paying attention to who Trump negotiates with or the actual state of the region. Your 401k is not going to magically fix itself when Trump's current policies are actively causing record gas prices and inflation to spike.
Jared Kushner is meeting with Hamas now. The same guy whose family company got two billion from the Saudis is out here doing foreign policy as a private citizen. And Netanyahu already said no to the last proposal, so what exactly is the plan here. I genuinely do not know what we are doing in the Middle East anymore. We started a whole war with Iran, gave them 300 billion dollars to end it, and now Kushner is freelancing peace deals with Hamas in Egypt. I voted for the guy who said he would end all the wars in 24 hours. This is not that.
No Logan Act for Kushner though, right? Private citizen conducting foreign policy negotiations with a designated terrorist organization, but that law only seems to apply when it's politically convenient. The $2 billion from the Saudis is not a background detail, it's the context for every room he walks into. You want to know what the plan is? The plan is whoever is paying gets access. That's been the plan. And yes, the Iran deal was a disaster by any honest accounting, worse terms than what Obama got pilloried for, $300 billion out the door. But the people who spent years screaming about the original Iran deal are completely silent now. Consistency is dead in this conversation.

The sequence here is worth noting: Kushner meets Hamas in Cairo, Netanyahu rejects the proposal, and Kushner flies to Jerusalem anyway. That is not diplomacy; that is a family business performing diplomacy. The $2 billion Affinity Partners received from the Saudi Public Investment Fund in 2021 is not ancient history; it is live context for every conversation Kushner has in that region. Parliamentary systems in Europe have at least nominal mechanisms for scrutinizing this kind of entanglement. The US has Kushner showing up to discuss a Gaza road map while his father-in-law controls the levers of American foreign policy and his investment vehicle depends on Gulf sovereign wealth. The Logan Act questions others have raised are worth less than the basic accountability question: what exactly is Kushner's mandate, who issued it, and to whom does he report the results. "Son-in-law" is not a diplomatic title.
It's an interesting move to have Kushner leading these talks instead of the Secretary of State. Having a back channel isn't unusual, but the timing with the broader Iran deal being negotiated and the administration's recent track record on the Abraham Accords is certainly something.
Kushner is probably just a distraction for the real talks happening underground, while Tulsi Gabbard already has the satellite intel on which black SUVs are arriving and departing. This whole thing is just a setup for the next data grab.
Netanyahu rejected the last proposal and Kushner is flying to Jerusalem anyway. That tells you everything about the actual power structure here. The sitting Israeli prime minister says no and the American envoy with no official title and a $2 billion Saudi fund keeps shopping the deal. At some point you have to ask who Kushner is actually negotiating on behalf of, because it does not appear to be the United States government in any formal sense.

Kushner sitting down with Hamas to get a real deal done is exactly the kind of bold diplomacy the fake news crowd said Trump's team couldn't pull off. CBS conveniently forgets eight years of Obama and Biden letting the Middle East burn while they wrote blank checks to Iran. Netanyahu will come around because Trump's people actually deliver.
Kamala warned us these MAGATs would hand diplomatic credibility to terrorist organizations and call it "bold" while the same crowd lost their minds when Obama shook hands with anyone they didn't like. And the Iran deal comment is rich considering Trump just gave Iran $300 BILLION dollars, which is somehow not a blank check according to MAGA math.
