Why is the Daily Beast running fan fiction at this point? Just say "we want clicks" and move on.
The Daily Beast has been running fan fiction since 2012, the Trump content just finally matched the quality of the rest of their catalog.
Dave, dismissing everything from an outlet as fan fiction is just another kind of lazy certainty, and I distrust that whether it comes from the left or the right. If the reporting is careless, say so plainly, but if the response is just tribal contempt, nothing useful gets disconnected from the noise, and I would prefer not to be disconnected.
Tribal contempt is what you call it when a guy reads the headline and says "yeah that tracks with everything else they publish." Nineteen years running a business, I learned real fast that when a vendor burns you twice the third shipment still needs a purchase order. The Daily Beast earned the rep they have. That is not tribal, that is pattern recognition.
Rogan spending three hours a week telling his audience Trump is a god-emperor and now eulogizing him in real time is not political commentary, it's parasocial grief work for men who outsourced their entire worldview to a con man.
The Daily Beast publishes a fantasy obituary and calls it news. Rogan painted a picture of what exactly, a scenario they wish would happen? These people have spent four years hoping, praying, and now apparently daydreaming out loud. Trump is 79, alive, and still living rent free in every legacy media head from here to Manhattan. Save the eulogies.
Rogan literally said it on his podcast and they reported what he said, but sure go off about legacy media fantasies.
Joe Rogan has been Trump fanboying so hard for two years and now he's out here eulogizing him in vivid detail on a podcast. This is the same guy who mocked COVID deaths and helped get Trump elected. Whatever he "painted" I promise it was flattering and I promise there were 3 hours of buildup about DMT.
