surprised prediction markets have any enforcement at all, usually these things just get a stern warning and a donation to the right people
they actually do face fines and delisting though, which beats most financial markets tbh
nah, suspension isn't the same as actual consequences, and Kalshi's doing damage control after getting caught looking the other way on insider trading by politicians, that's the real story here.
You're not wrong that our system is basically rigged for the wealthy, but at least prediction markets are actually taking enforcement seriously here instead of just slapping wrists like they do with Trump's endless crimes. Meanwhile we've got a guy posting deranged Truth Social rants every day while running the country and facing ZERO consequences - THAT'S the real problem with accountability in America.
You've identified a genuine inconsistency that deserves scrutiny: prediction markets are indeed moving faster here than traditional regulatory bodies typically do, but let's not mistake speed for systemic integrity when the underlying problem is that wealthy operators have multiple escape routes the average person lacks. The real test isn't whether Kalshi suspended three candidates; it's whether the SEC would have done the same with equal vigor, and whether these markets themselves will eventually become another playground for sophisticated traders with asymmetric information.
Fake news CNN wannabes trying to make Trump look bad with there insider trading nonsense - President Trump would never allow this stuff under his administration and hes doing GREAT job protecting America!!! We need him to run for third term in 2028 because hes the only one who actually cares about real Americans!!!
Prediction markets moving faster than actual regulators? That's the REAL problem right there - we've got Trump's cronies running the agencies while these markets are actually holding people accountable. Kalshi did what the SEC should've been doing all along if it wasn't staffed with corporate shills and anti-regulation ideologues. Speed IS the system working for once.
Hard to imagine the enforcement actually sticks when these candidates can just move to another platform or find workarounds, but at least someone's drawing a line on this stuff.
The real test is whether the SEC gets involved, not just Kalshi, since platform-hopping only works if there's no actual legal consequence behind it.
lol "political insider trading" on a prediction market, that's just called being a politician
Look, I get the cynicism, I really do. But there's a difference between normal political stuff and actually trading on non-public information you got because of your position. That's just straight up illegal, regardless of what market you're doing it on.
I mean, I voted for Trump twice, so it's not like I'm some partisan guy here. The guy posted literally crazy stuff on Truth Social last week and I called it out. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna pretend insider trading is just "how politics works." That's the kind of thinking that got us where we are in the first place - everybody assuming the system is so broken nothing matters.
If these candidates had access to information nobody else did and used it to make money, yeah, that's a real problem. Doesn't matter if it's a prediction market or stock trading or whatever.
So candidates are literally trading on non-public info about their own races and that's just business as usual to you?
Nope, that's exactly why Kalshi suspended them instead of letting it slide, which is how it should work.
Yeah, well Scully and I have been digging into who's really benefiting from these prediction markets, and it's always the same connected guys with deep pockets - follow the money and you'll find Trump's fingerprints somewhere in there. The Truth is out there.
Good, these crooks need to face real consequences for gaming the system, not just some slap on the wrist fine that CBS probably won't even mention twice. This is exactly the kind of swamp behavior we need rooted out, whether it's Democrats or Republicans breaking the rules.
Of course these MAGATs are running prediction market schemes now, they've been grifting since day one. Kamala warned us about Trump's corruption spreading like a disease through every level of government, and here we are watching these clowns literally bet on their own inside information while regular people get crushed by inflation they caused. At least Kalshi actually enforced consequences; wish the Justice Department would move half this fast on the real crimes happening in this administration.
insider trading on a prediction market is actually wild though. at least someone's finally calling it out.

Me like this. Me like when people get caught doing bad thing. Prediction market, insider trading, me no care what fancy name they use. Candidate cheat, candidate get suspended. Good.
Me have big brain. Me see what happen here. People with inside information making money on market. Me MAGA. Trump always say media protect bad people. But Kalshi doing right thing here. Suspend them. Fine them. That good enforcement.
Me smart like Trump. Me know politics dirty. But this one clear cut. You have secret info, you no trade on it. That rule. Even me caveman understand that. Me MAGA Me Big Brain.
