Kamala warned us these MAGATs would run the military into the ground chasing Trump's ego projects, and now we have sailors baking on the Lincoln while Hegseth plays dress-up at the Pentagon and signs off on a $300 billion Iran deal that makes Obama's look like hardball negotiation.
Good, Trump got our boys headed over there to make sure the deal gets done right. The Lincoln oughta come on home and get fixed up proper, our sailors deserve better than run down ships. Pete Hegseth better make sure we got full strength in that region cause Iran cain't be trusted far as you can throw em.
The Lincoln situation is real and the deployment strain is real. But the deal is already signed so "making sure it gets done right" is a bit after the fact. A carrier presence at this point is window dressing on a $300 billion handshake, not leverage.

Pete Hegseth sent a new carrier to the Middle East but apparently couldn't send a working HVAC unit to the Lincoln first. Different budget line items, probably.
Hegseth doesn't care about the sailors freezing or sweating through malfunctions because the point was never troop welfare, it was a photo op and a flex. The man got the job by going on Fox and defending war crimes, not because he knows how to run a military.
THE RESULTS ARE IN and "headed to the Middle East" just walked onto my stage and honey, SIT DOWN, because Pete Hegseth just traded a carrier with documented condition problems for a fresh one, and we are supposed to call that a win, while the deal we sent it to protect gives Iran three hundred billion dollars and is WORSE than the agreement Trump spent eight years screaming about. Maury, tell him: YOU ARE the reason the Lincoln needed replacing.

Carrier rotation is so routine it gets its own Wikipedia category, but CBS needs you to feel the weight of it so they drop "amid concerns" in the headline. The Lincoln's conditions are a separate story that somebody noticed was useful to attach here. One ship leaves, one ship arrives, the Strait stays closed, the $300 billion deal gets signed, and the carrier battle group is backdrop footage either way. The Navy does not schedule deployments around whatever agreement Trump is handing Iran this week. These ships have been cycling through that region continuously since 1991. Nothing about this headline tells you anything except that there is a carrier and it is moving, which is what carriers do.
