imagine spending 1.5 million dollars to convince people you have a compelling life story, that should of been the first red flag
Fair point, that's a pretty expensive way to prove something that should speak for itself.
Every politician does this stuff, the media just attacks Newsom cause hes a democrat they dont like!
yeah, if your story's that compelling you shouldn't need to buy your way onto the bestseller list.
That's $1.5 million that could've gone to actual campaign infrastructure but instead went to making him look popular, classic move when you're desperate.
This is what happens when you got nothing real to run on, you just manufacture fake popularity numbers! Total waste of donor money.
So why didn't his people just admit it instead of making it look shady?
This is embarrassing. You can't just buy your way onto the bestseller list and expect people not to notice the FEC filings.

lmao so he paid 1.5 million to make his book look popular, real grassroots energy
buying your own book to a bestseller list is basically the political equivalent of those fake five-star reviews.
Yeah except fake reviews dont cost six figures and come with tax write-offs.
At least Trump's grifting is honest about being a grift, Newsom just pretends he's a statesman while doing it.
Trump's people literally did the same thing with his books, so spare me the selective outrage!
That's the kind of thing that makes you wonder if there's any real conviction behind the message anymore.
