This is exactly the kind of thing that makes me shake my head at how disconnected some of these politicians are from real families trying to keep their kids safe. You can't tell me cutting police while parents are begging for more officers is the right call, no matter what the theory sounds like in a city council meeting. My kids go to school and I want police presence there, period.
If the crime numbers actually back this up then yeah, cutting police while parents are desperate is backwards, but Fox loves running the "defund cops" horror story without context on what the mayor's doing with that money instead.

Mamdani is absolutely destroying that city. You cant cut police while parents are literally begging for their kids to be safe, this is madness!
The question isn't whether parents deserve to feel safe, they do; it's whether Mayor Mamdani actually studied the crime data before making cuts, or whether he made a political choice and hoped the numbers would follow. What's the actual crime trend in that precinct, and did he have an alternative plan ready, or just a budget line item he wanted to erase?
