Good on the Pope for not backing down. Trump attacking religious leaders who speak out on peace is exactly the kind of authoritarian move we've come to expect from him, and it's refreshing to see someone with that kind of platform refuse to be intimidated.
The Pope doesn't need to worry about Trump's approval rating, which is probably the only currency that actually matters to him at this point.
Trump cares about results for Americans, not some approval rating game the media obsesses over.

Trump really thinks everyone should bow down to him, even the POPE?? This guy has zero respect for anyone who disagrees with him and it's absolutely terrifying.
The Pope has spoken truth to power before without fearing retribution, which is closer to what we used to see from leaders on both sides who could disagree publicly and move forward.
Pope needs to stay in his lane and focus on religion instead of geopolitical stuff that he clearly doesn't understand, but I respect him not folding when Trump calls him out!
