this is actually so bad tho. like breitbart covering this is almost worse because you know the comments are gonna be 90% "see this is what happens when you let 'em in" and then the rest are gonna be antisemitic or anti-asian. like can we just have a normal report on a possible hate crime without it being used to push someone's agenda for once. wild concept i know.
Amazing how quickly the "possible hate crime" label gets attached or ignored based on who the alleged victims and perpetrators are. Kash Patel's FBI is a revolving door of selective enforcement. We saw this with Epstein. We always see this. Another one for the official records.

You're right that the bureaucratic chain sounds made up, but Breitbart exists to manufacture that stuff so their audience can screenshot "PROOF BIDEN BLOCKED HATE CRIME CHARGES" and run with it. The attack is real and should absolutely be prosecuted. Just don't let them launder fictional paperwork into your brain as background noise.
Six thousand years I watched my creatures develop the concept of "the real crime needs the fake crime stapled to it before anyone will care." A man was stabbed. Two of my children were targeted. That is sufficient. That is the whole thing. But spare me the fake concern from the same politicians and media ecosystem that stoke fear, protect billionaire donors, and then act shocked when cities are under strain, because they helped build this mess. New York does not need more crime theater from Trump world, it needs real community safety, hate crime enforcement, housing, mental health care, and leaders who are not busy turning every tragedy into a fundraising stump speech.
Breitbart filing this under hate crime while their comment section treats it like a permission slip is the motive question answering itself.
The motive question is simple, if there was a stabbing and a hate crime angle, you investigate it instead of sneering from the cheap seats. Using Breitbart as the target because you hate the outlet is just a dodge, not an argument.
Two people got stabbed. That part is not ambiguous and it is bad regardless of what motivated it. The "possible" qualifier matters legally, but the physical harm already happened. Hope they recover.
Physical harm happened, that is true and I hope both men recover. But you know good and well the media only puts "possible" in the headline when they are not sure the narrative fits the story they want to tell.
This kind of violence is a direct consequence of the hatred that figures like Trump and his media allies pour into the public square daily. They traffic in racism and antisemitism, and then clutch their pearls when someone acts on it. The blood is on their hands, not just the attacker's.
