It's a good metaphor, I'll give it that. The public works projects under this administration seem to be going about as well as their foreign policy with Iran. Not surprising. You get what you pay for, and you get what you prioritize.
A metaphor, sure, if the metaphor is "cheap vanity project meets predictable incompetence." Trump choosing sealant and then the Reflecting Pool starts shedding like a bad parking lot job is about as on-brand as it gets.
