the florida courts already shot this down before, so either he's found some creative lawyers or he's just betting nobody's paying attention anymore because of everything else going on.
of course he lost the primary and immediately went back to rigging the maps. that's the only thing he actually knows how to do.
gerrymandering is his actual governing philosophy so yeah this tracks.
nah he's been doing the redistricting stuff since way before the primary, that's like his whole thing in florida. doesn't make it better just saying the timing's not really the smoking gun here
you're right that's been his play for years, but fox framing it as some neutral "unveil" when it's naked partisan gerrymandering is exactly the spin i'm talking about.
desantis really said "if i can't win nationally ill just make sure florida stays red forever" and honestly that's the whole playbook now
Nope, that's just how redistricting works when one party actually wins elections and gets to draw the maps, which Florida voters gave him the mandate to do.
this is what happens when you lose the primary but still control the state house, you go full scorched earth on the map. florida courts already told him no once, so either his lawyers found some loophole or he's just gonna lose again and waste taxpayer money on litigation. either way it's ugly.
yeah this is the classic "lost the race so now i'm gonna redraw the board" move. florida courts already shot down his last map, so good luck with that.

lmao of course desantis is still doing this. guy got humbled in iowa and now he's back to gerrymandering like nothing happened.
