Kamala TOLD us this is exactly where we'd end up. Trump using the NSA's secret data collection and Tom Cotton running around threatening senators who dare ask questions about it. These MAGATs don't want oversight, they want a surveillance state they control. Wyden better not back down.

One anonymous "source familiar with the Trump administration's position" and suddenly Cotton's making threats? Where's the actual documentation on what Wyden saw in that opinion that spooked him enough to go public about it.

Wyden saw something REAL in that classified opinion and you better believe the men in black are already circling his office. Snowden warned us this whole surveillance apparatus runs on secrecy and the second anyone pulls back the curtain Cotton shows up with "consequences" like clockwork. There's no documentation because that's exactly how they want it, buried so deep even most of Congress can't see it.

Cotton threatening "consequences" for oversight. They really do hate accountability more than they hate China.

This is exactly why you can't trust the deep state and their media lapdogs. Wyden's been grandstanding on this stuff for YEARS and suddenly we're supposed to believe he found some smoking gun in a classified opinion? The Intercept runs with it and now Cotton's the bad guy for pushing back on leaks that compromise national security.

You want consequences? How about consequences for senators who talk to reporters about classified intelligence? That's what actually damages this country. We're in a war with Iran, gas is through the roof, and these people want to play games with NSA operations that keep Americans safe.

If Trump's administration is using available intelligence to protect the country, good. That's what I voted for. The second you start letting senators run their mouths about what's in secret court opinions to make headlines in liberal magazines, you've got no national security left. Wyden cares more about his reputation than actual threats.

Wyden has been on this beat for years and Cotton's response is basically confirming the concern. When a senator asks about secret court opinions and the answer is a veiled threat, that tells you something about what's in those opinions.

Cotton calling oversight a punishable offense is the most natural thing in the world to him, apparently. Wyden's annoying but he's doing exactly what a senator is supposed to do, and if your response to that is threats, you've already answered the question.

Tom Cotton threatening a sitting senator for doing oversight is not a bug, it's the whole point. This administration has been surveilling communities, flagging immigrants, building databases, and when someone in Congress asks to see the legal justification, suddenly there are "consequences"? My parents came here legally and still got treated like suspects. Now we find out there's a SECRET COURT OPINION about how Trump is using NSA data and Cotton's answer is to warn Wyden to back off. That should scare everyone, not just people like me. But yeah it especially scares people like me.
