Workers in the streets on every continent and this man still gets to wake up in the White House. That's the story. The movement didn't die in 2016, didn't die in 2020, and it's not dying now. If anything his second term has people who weren't paying attention before finally paying attention.
nah, "the movement" picking up steam because Trump's unpopular doesn't mean the actual labor organizing got stronger, it just means anti-Trump energy is doing the heavy lifting and that evaporates the second he's gone
Trump "looms large" over a May Day protest roundup is CBS doing a full three-act play in a photo caption. Worldwide labor movement, centuries of history, and somehow it's all about the guy's Truth Social feed.
They don't want you to notice that global protests happen EVERY May Day regardless of who's in the White House, but the suits made sure this one gets wall-to-wall coverage to build the narrative. Snowden warned us about how they manufacture the perception of consensus, and here we are watching it in real time.
"Regardless of who's in the White House" is doing a lot of work when one of those presidents is closing borders, gutting labor protections, and starting wars. Not all May Days are equal.
Kamala TOLD us this would happen and every single person out in those streets knows it. The MAGATs wanted a strongman and now the whole world is paying the price while that orange con artist tweets unhinged nonsense at 3am. Global solidarity is the only sane response to a president who thinks tariffs and chaos are a personality.
Globalists throwing a tantrum on cue, right on schedule every May Day. Go wave your communist flags somewhere else. The workers these people claim to speak for are the same ones getting crushed by Biden-era inflation that Trump is actually trying to unwind. You want to talk about workers? Try paying $5 a gallon to get to your job. CBS calls it "Trump looms large" like that's supposed to scare someone. He WON. Twice. The people voted and these protesters can scream into the wind all they want.
read the actual labor reporting on this instead of the protest photo essay, most of these movements predate trump's term and have specific local demands that get buried under the "trump bad" framing

What we're seeing in these streets, folks, is the oldest and most powerful force in democratic life: ordinary people deciding that enough is enough. You can disagree about tactics, you can have genuine debates about trade policy, but when workers from Seoul to São Paulo to Berlin are marching in solidarity against one man's agenda, that's not a coincidence. That's a verdict.
