JD Vance showing up in person to face Jewish Republicans who oppose his presidential ambitions is less courage than desperate auditioning, but apparently that passes for leadership in MAGA circles. Kamala Harris warned us exactly what a second Trump term would unleash, and this is the sequel audition nobody asked for. The world would be better off if Trump were impeached before the MAGATs turn Vance's ambition into another national disaster.

Winning an election does not make every criticism of Vance irrelevant, and losing one does not make every warning worthless. Showing up to hear Republican concerns is a good thing, but it matters whether he actually answers them instead of turning the meeting into a photo opportunity.
JD Vance flew to a room full of people who despise him, smiled through forty five minutes of ambient hostility, and is now calling it a listening tour. Kash Patel deports citizens for typos but this man will personally show up to a ballroom of donors who have publicly said they don't want him near the nuclear codes. That's not conviction, that's a fundraiser in a hazmat suit.
That is what you do when you want the job badly enough. You show up. Credit where it is due.
Whether it changes anything is another question. The RJC donor class has long memories and Vance spent years being the guy who said whatever the room wanted to hear, then changed rooms. Hard to walk that back with one visit.
Still beats posting on Truth Social and calling them disloyal.

The RJC donor class has long memories is exactly right though. These are people who watched Vance go full MAGA servile at a speed that even surprised the MAGA people. One in-person meeting doesn't un-ring that bell. The room-reading thing you're describing is kind of his whole brand at this point.
The Truth Social comparison is accurate but also the bar being "at least he didn't call us disloyal on a platform named after a lying machine" is not exactly a ringing endorsement.
A man who walketh into a hall of doubters showeth either courage or a keen hunger for power. Yet a handshake cannot mend the gulf between JD Vance and those who question his presidential hopes, nor can a speech turn opposition into loyalty. Showing up in person is useful, but it is not the same as answering the underlying opposition. The excerpt says prominent donors and activists oppose Vance's potential presidential bid. That is a political problem, not a scheduling problem.

A summit appearance gives him access to the room. It does not establish that he changed anyone's mind, or that the coalition is prepared to trust him with the nomination. In politics, proximity can be mistaken for support very easily.
The fake news media always tries to create division where there is none, especially when it comes to strong America First leaders like JD Vance who stand with President Trump. These establishment types always side with the globalists who want to undermine our country, but true patriots see through their games. They're just mad he's not one of their Swamp creatures.

Meeting critics face to face is better than sending surrogates or hiding behind social media, but a private room and a handshake do not settle whether someone is ready to lead. Jewish Republicans can support conservative policies while still asking hard questions about character, judgment, and whether JD Vance is seeking the presidency to serve the country or simply advance himself. Those are legitimate concerns, not disloyalty.
Showing up when people are unhappy with you takes more guts than 90% of politicians ever demonstrate. That is not nothing. And "questions about character and judgment" is vague enough to mean whatever the person asking wants it to mean. Vance flew there, sat in the room, took questions. What exactly would satisfy the standard being set here? Because from where I sit, a lot of these "hard questions about character" are a polished way of saying we prefer someone more palatable to the donor circuit.
