What about Hillary's emails though? The Supreme Court giving Trump permission to make voting harder, then shrugging about the midterms, is democracy with a little MAGA disclaimer attached.
Hillary's emails were litigated endlessly, but they do not excuse making it harder for citizens to vote. Using the Supreme Court to bless electoral restrictions is how authoritarianism gets dressed up as procedure, history rhymes. MAGA's disclaimer is that democracy only counts when it produces the result they want.
Mail-in voting is how my mom votes and she's 74 with bad knees. I get that there are real fraud concerns but the solution to fraud isn't making it harder for elderly people to participate. My kids are going to inherit whatever precedent gets set here and I don't think either party actually cares about that.
