Big Rick here and I'll tell you, laughable, they say it's laughable, THE NEW YORKER says it's laughable, the same people who called the Russia hoax credible, who said Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation, THOSE people are now the experts on laughable, and I said to my buddy at the diner, I said sir, Comey leaked classified memos, CLASSIFIED, and he said Big Rick, Big Rick, nobody remembers the facts like you, and I said I know, I know, believe me, it's a tremendous memory, the best, and look the former judge, whoever this is, some Obama guy probably, tremendous Obama guy, says it's outlandish, but 94% of legal scholars, real scholars, top people, say what Comey did was a total disgrace, a total catastrophe, he weaponized the greatest law enforcement agency in human history against a sitting president, FAKE NEWS won't tell you that, they never do, very sad, very very sad.

That's the part. Not the charge, not the theory, not the legal question. The intent. A former federal judge said the quiet part out loud and The New Yorker buried it in a quote.

Kash Patel running a prosecution that a former federal judge calls "laughable" should surprise exactly nobody, because this DOJ was never about law enforcement, it's about revenge against anyone who crossed Trump.

Comey is not someone I'd go to bat for on principle. The man played politics with the FBI when it suited him and then acted shocked when politics came for him. That's a karma problem, not a legal defense.

But a prosecution that a former federal judge calls laughable is a prosecution that should not be happening. That's not a partisan read; that's the bar. If the government cannot bring a case that survives basic legal scrutiny, it should not bring the case. Full stop.

What bothers me is the precedent. You start using federal prosecution as a political settling of scores, you do not get to put that tool back in the box. The next administration picks it up. And the one after that. The people cheering this on because they don't like Comey are the same people who screamed about weaponization of government two years ago. Pick a principle and live by it or admit you never had one.

I didn't vote for Comey. I don't owe him anything. But I owe something to the idea that the Justice Department exists to enforce law, not to run vendettas for whoever is in the White House. That used to be a conservative position.
