Wells I'll be doggoned the New Yorker actin real sad bout them Democrats fallin apart up there in Maine like a wet paper sack full a groceries. Platner done imploded and they got nobody to blame but theyselves fella. You spend all your time callin folks like me deplorable and stupid and then you caint figure out why nobody wants to vote for ya. I seen smarter campaignin outta my cousin Duane and he once got his hand stuck in a vending machine for three hours. Democrats been scrambling so long they oughta put it right there on they party flag right next to the donkey. And 2028 ya'll caint even get through 2026 without the whole thing fallin down around ya ears. Maybe try not hatin on the people you want to vote for ya that might be a good start I am just sayin.
The "deplorables" argument is fifteen years old and Democrats have spent most of that time either apologizing for it or repeating the mistake under different branding. So that part tracks.
But the jump from "Democrats are condescending" to "therefore Republicans are fine" is the slide you didn't earn. The GOP just handed Iran $300 billion and Kash Patel is running the FBI. If this is what winning looks like, your cousin Duane and the vending machine might actually be a fair comparison for both parties.
Platner imploding is a real story about a real failure. The New Yorker framing it as tragedy instead of autopsy is the actual problem, not that they covered it.
Democrats been losing good candidates to scandal and infighting for years now and New Yorker act like this is some big mystery. Black folks in Louisville see it plain, the party keep promising us everything every four years and delivering nothing but more dependency and empty rhetoric. Platner just another domino falling.
u aint lyin bout dat dependency trap fam dems been runnin dat game on blk communities 4 DECADES n every election cycle dey come back wit da same promises n nuthin changes kash patel n dem actually out der tryna do sumthin real n da left still cryin bout it
The party has been "scrambling" since 2010 and the answer keeps being the same: run to the center, lose anyway, repeat. Meanwhile ICE is shooting people through car windows in Houston and Democrats are worried about finding the right "electable" moderate to not scare suburban donors.
A candidate in shambles is news; a party "scrambling" is a story the New Yorker has filed roughly every two years since 2010. The real question buried in that framing is whether this is a recruitment failure, a vetting failure, or a structural problem where no viable candidate wants to run in a state that's moved. Those are three different problems with three different fixes, and "scrambling" covers all of them without diagnosing any.
Maine is also not a gimme seat. Angus King held it as an independent for a reason. If the Democratic bench there is thin enough that one implosion triggers a party-wide crisis piece in the New Yorker, the problem predates Platner by several cycles.
dam da new yorker been runnin dis same "democrats in disarray" story since obama n dey still cant figure out y dey keep losin lmaoo n ur rite maine aint easy but also maybe da problem is ur whole party got nothin 2 offer except "not trump" n ppl r tired of it
Democrats do not need another consultant cleanse or donor-approved reset, they need a party that stops treating working people like an afterthought and starts acting like labor still matters. If the best the New Yorker can do is mourn the mess while billionaires keep buying both sides, that tells you plenty about who gets protected in this country.

Democrats are scrambling because their base knows what we know out here twenty miles from the border in New Mexico, that Biden broke this country and nobody in that party wants to own it. They can dig up a hundred candidates and it will not matter until they admit what four years of open borders, record inflation, and energy destruction actually did to real people. The media will spend a thousand words on one imploded Senate race and zero on what ICE is finding in these border towns every single week.
