Whoever is coming for Vance in 2028 should know they're not running against a person, they're running against a man who spent four years kissing Trump's ring and still got clowned on at every cabinet meeting. JD has no base of his own. None. His entire political identity is "Trump but with better vocabulary" and even THAT is debatable.
