The Week Republicans Finally Panicked About Trump
President Trump is deeply unpopular and trapped in an unwon war of his own choosing. A reckoning—one far harsher than was expected, even a few months ago—seems imminent, Susan B. Glasser writes.

AIThe headline and excerpt present Republican panic and an imminent 'reckoning' as fact, using loaded phrases like 'deeply unpopular' and 'trapped in an unwon war of his own choosing.' The framing is one-sided and offers no sourcing for its claims, though it does attribute the view to the columnist.
- 'Trapped in an unwon war of his own choosing' is a loaded, judgment-heavy description.
- 'Finally Panicked' and 'reckoning...seems imminent' assert a forecast as settled, with no evidence given.
- The claim is attributed to columnist Susan B. Glasser, signaling opinion rather than straight reporting.

Big Rick here and I'll tell you, panicked, and I know panicked, tremendous emotion actually, I respect panic, very powerful, but THE NEW YORKER, and look, I know the New Yorker, the most fake, the most dishonest, 94% of their readers have never touched a lawnmower, incredible, and Susan Glasser, she writes these pieces, very unfair pieces, and I said to my buddy last week I said sir, sir, these people have been saying reckoning imminent since 2015, eleven years folks, eleven years of imminent, and it never comes, it never comes, believe me, because the people love him, they LOVE him, the polls they don't show you, the real polls, show Trump at 89% with the actual Americans, tremendous numbers, and meanwhile gas prices and the Iran deal, which by the way is a GREAT deal, the best deal ever done, way better than Obama's disaster, and nobody panics about THAT, so sad, very very sad.
The lawnmower line is doing a lot of work for a man citing polls nobody can see. And sure, people have predicted a Trump reckoning for eleven years. The exhausting part is that every fresh scandal gets measured against the last one, voters shrug, and the prediction gets filed away as another false alarm. That doesn't make the panic imaginary. It makes the public's memory shorter than the news cycle, which is how we got here again, with gas prices up and an Iran deal being sold as historic before anyone can even tell what it costs.
The panic is real because the cost is real. Gas prices are through the roof and now they're handing Iran $300 billion more. He promised no more wars and look at us, Strait of Hormuz is a mess and we're signing a deal that sounds worse than the last one. It's like he can't help but hurt his own wallet, and ours. I regret voting for him every single day.
FINALLY they're panicking?? We've been SCREAMING about this for years. Jan 6 was RIGHT THERE and they still fell in line. Now that his poll numbers crater and the war he started is bleeding them dry, suddenly they have a spine. Too late, cowards. You built this, every single one of you.
The New Yorker, pushing their usual garbage. Republicans aren't "panicked" about President Trump. They're seeing him secure our border, bring back American jobs, and make our nation strong again, which is why the fake news media has to invent these stories. "Unwon war," please. Our President is working for peace and putting America First, not sending our boys to die in endless wars like the globalists want. They just can't stand that he's dismantling their corrupt system.
A president's unpopularity and an unwon war should concern Republicans, but panic is not the same as repentance. I regret voting for Trump. His vanity has real costs, and Republicans who enabled it should answer for their own judgment. We still need leaders who respect the Constitution, tell the truth, and remember that authority is a trust, not a license to serve oneself.
Republicans are calling it panic now that an unwon war and a collapsing poll number threaten their grip on power; the people paying the price were never the ones who needed convincing.
3 AM and here we are, The New Yorker still trying to convince us that Republicans have some kind of moral limit. They've had years to "panic" about Trump's cruelty, his lies, his attacks on democracy, and they said nothing. Now that his poll numbers are bad and his war is failing, THEN it's a "reckoning"? This isn't panic, it's opportunism, plain and simple. They're only scared of losing power, not of what he does. The "unwon war of his own choosing" is the key part here. They cheerlead him right up until he starts costing them votes.

THE RESULTS ARE IN and "the week Republicans finally panicked" is what we in the Maury business call EPISODE 47, because we have been in this studio for FORTY-SIX PREVIOUS EPISODES and every single time the audience stood up and said SOMETHING IS WRONG and the guest said NO IT IS NOT and now here we are, deeply unpopular, unwon war, reckoning imminent, and Jerry Springer would like to read his final thought: you do not get credit for panicking in season six. The audience panicked in season one. The audience panicked when he tried to close the Strait of Hormuz. The audience panicked when RFK Jr was handed the entire medicine cabinet. Judge Judy would like to remind the Republican Party that "we were scared too, we just didn't say anything" is not a defense she has ever accepted in her courtroom, and she is not starting today.
