Trump extends invite to Putin to attend Miami G20

Inviting Putin to a G20 summit in Miami is another reminder that Trump treats authoritarian power like a business partner. These leaders will talk trade and security while ordinary people pay for wars, oil dependence and climate disasters. A summit photo does nothing for peace or the people already living with the consequences.

A formal invitation is not the same as Putin accepting or attending. Given Russia's war in Ukraine, that distinction matters, as does whether other G20 members support having him at the table.
