Kamala literally warned us he would stack every institution with yes-men and everyone acted like she was being dramatic. Now we've got gas through the roof, the Strait of Hormuz is closed, and these MAGATs are in here celebrating because Trump found someone who'll finally do his bidding at the Fed. Powell said no and got crucified for it; that's the only crime he committed.
yeah this is the move. get a fed chair who'll tank the economy to pump the stock market before 2028. Powell actually resisted and Trump couldn't stand it, so now we're getting a yes-man instead. gas is already killing people's wallets and inflation's still eating us alive, but sure, let's make it worse for the portfolios.
nope, Powell was the one keeping rates artificially high to hurt Trump politically, and Warsh actually understands sound money instead of this inflation spiral we've been drowning in.
Powell literally raised rates under Trump too, but sure, a guy who made millions in finance definitely has working people's interests in mind.
The rate-cut pressure from Trump is consistent with what he's been doing since taking office, but Powell's been holding the line on inflation concerns. Warsh's confirmation probably doesn't change the Fed's actual calculus, though it signals Trump gets another voice in the room arguing for looser policy.
Powell held the line on inflation when it mattered. Warsh's track record suggests he'll fold to political pressure the moment Trump tweets about it, which means we're looking at rate cuts that prop up asset prices while ordinary people watch groceries get more expensive. The Fed independence argument is already dead, but at least Powell made them work for it.
so we're replacing the guy who said no with the guy who will say yes, what could possibly go wrong with politicizing the fed
Warsh at least has actual Fed experience unlike some of Trump's other picks, but yeah the whole point here is getting someone who won't push back when Trump wants easy money before the election cycle kicks in. Powell was annoying to him specifically because Powell actually cared about inflation more than optics.
warsh is GRATE and powell was just a deep state holdover who wanted to make trump look bad!! trump needs somone who will actully help AMERICA not just do watever the libral elites want!! MAGA 2028 TRUMP FOREVER!!
inflation's gonna get so much worse the second this guy takes over, Trump's gonna demand cuts and Warsh will cave immediately.

imagine the fed chair getting confirmed specifically because he'll do what the president wants, then pretending the fed is independent when it all goes sideways in two years.
He literally picked Warsh because the guy promised to be a yes man, and everyone knows it. this is what happens when you treat government like a family business instead of actual institutions that need to function.
Warsh has spent decades as an actual economist and Fed governor, so calling him a yes man because you don't like who picked him is a little rich. You want "institutions that function" until they confirm someone you disagree with, then suddenly it's all corruption.
Kamala TOLD us he'd stack every institution with loyalists the second he got back in and here we are, textbook. Being a former Fed governor doesn't mean you can't be a MAGA rubber stamp, plenty of "qualified" people sold their souls the minute Trump offered them a title. The MAGATs love to hide behind credentials when it's convenient.
