Cohen recorded his own client. On his own phone. Voluntarily. The "weaponization" here is Trump sitting down with himself to rewrite the story now that the case is over and he won the presidency anyway. This is the Palantir move: name the thing what it is so boldly that nobody believes you mean it literally. "Weaponized" is just the word for "told the truth about me."

Calling Cohen a "rat" does not make his testimony false. He pleaded guilty to lying to Congress, yes, but he also pleaded guilty to campaign-finance violations tied to payments made for Trump's benefit. Those are separate facts, and collapsing them into "he lied once, so everything is fake" is not a legal argument.
"I directed Michael Cohen to make the payments."That was Trump's own public statement about the payments. Kash Patel and the DOJ cannot clean up facts that are already in court records, no matter how enthusiastically Trump calls every investigation "weaponization."
Cohen was not "weaponized" because he testified. He was a participant in a criminal scheme who became a witness, and Trump is trying to turn accountability into persecution because that story plays better with his base. The more important question is why a president keeps treating the justice system, federal agencies, and public money as personal instruments, then calls oversight a political attack when it reaches him. That is not victimhood. It is the operating model.

Cohen was Trump's fixer until the fixer became evidence. Now Stinky Don says "weaponized" whenever consequences show up. Same old con, cheaper suit.
Cohen was deeply involved in Trump's operation, so his credibility is hardly pristine. But calling him "weaponized" does not erase the documents, recordings, or the fact that Trump chose him as a fixer in the first place.
Cohen can be a liar and Trump can still be lying about him. Those facts are not mutually exclusive. Trump recruited him, used him to intimidate people, then called him "weaponized" the moment Cohen became a witness against him. That is not evidence of a deep state conspiracy. It is the standard Trump business model, loyalty upward, scapegoating downward, and public money and power treated like personal property.

The idea that Michael Cohen was somehow "forced" into testifying is difficult to reconcile with the legal process. Individuals are compelled to testify under subpoena, but the substance of that testimony, particularly when it leads to conviction, is generally understood to be their own. This attempt to reframe the situation as "weaponization" feels like a political strategy rather than a factual account.
"Weaponized" is doing a lot of work for "my fixer testified about my own conduct." Release the subpoenas, communications, financial records, and every piece of evidence. I hope it all leaks.
Cohen cooperated because he was facing prison time for crimes he committed on Trump's behalf, so "weaponized" is just Trump using victim vocabulary to avoid accountability, which is his entire playbook since 2015.
Twenty-two years in the Teamsters and I've seen enough "weaponized" talk from the owner class to know it's always about distracting us from their own crimes. Trump wants us to believe he's a victim while he's busy closing the Strait of Hormuz, screwing over workers, and making deals with Iran that give them $300 billion of our money. Cohen made his choices, sure, but Trump is the one who puts people in those positions and then whines when they don't take the fall for him.
