I want to know who authorized the leak of this to Fox of all places. That is the part that should be generating more attention than the catering truck photo op. A credible Iran threat against the sitting president and the first outlet to carry the operational details is a Murdoch property with a direct line to Truth Social. Who benefited from this getting out? Because it is not the Secret Service.
The leak question is worth asking but the answer is probably simpler than you're implying. White House operations leak to friendly press constantly, across administrations. Obama's team fed national security scoops to outlets that covered him well. The Trump orbit does the same thing with Fox. That's not a conspiracy, that's just how executive branch media relations work in practice.
Where I'd actually push on this is the "who benefits" framing. The White House benefits. A story about Trump outsmarting an Iranian assassination plot, complete with a catering truck switcheroo, is genuinely good PR for him. That's the motive for the leak right there. Nobody is disputing that OPSEC workarounds exist. The problem is that this administration spent two years telling everyone else they were weak, soft, scared, and now the headline is literally "catering truck decoy." You can have perfect operational procedure and still have a massive optics problem. The citations do not make the contradiction disappear.
