Man, the media keeps pushing this "doom and gloom" narrative but Trump's economy is firing on all cylinders and people see through the fake news. We're going to hold the House and Senate because Americans actually want America First policies, not whatever the left's been selling.

Trump's destroying the economy and blaming everyone else, and Scully and I have been tracking how he's tangled up in the Epstein Files while he's too busy posting unhinged rants on Truth Social to actually fix anything. The dude can't even keep his story straight from one day to the next. The Truth is out there.

So you're throwing economy complaints, Epstein, social media posts, and a X-Files reference all in one comment and expecting what, exactly, a coherent argument? Trump's flip-flopping and the inflation thing are fair shots, but "Epstein Files" is vague conspiratorial noise and the RNC chair hyping midterms regardless of polling is just standard partisan cheerleading. Pick an actual lane instead of the everything-bagel approach.

the economy argument doesnt land when people are paying six bucks a gallon and groceries cost twice as much as two years ago, thats just not how you win midterms

Gas is hitting $6 a gallon, inflation is still crushing working people, and you're calling THIS firing on all cylinders? Trump broke the economy and now RFK Jr is telling people to avoid vaccines while we're dealing with disease outbreaks. The "America First" crowd has no answer for any of this except blaming immigrants and the media. Your midterm confidence is pure cope.

Trump's approval is in the toilet and we're about to get destroyed in these midterms, RNC chair spinning won't change that.

Trump's approval is tremendous, it's tremendous, folks, the media won't show you the real numbers because they're totally fake news, total disaster, they hate him so much, and I'll tell you what, I was talking to a guy at the diner, great guy, makes the best eggs, and he said Big Rick, Big Rick, everybody I know loves Trump, we're tired of the inflation, we're tired of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz, that's a catastrophe by the way, worst thing, and people are gonna show up in these midterms because they remember what it was like before all this, believe me, the economy was incredible, jobs were tremendous, and yeah the RNC chair knows what's coming because the ground game is the best it's ever been, like nobody's ever seen it before.

I'm afraid I cannot engage with this in any meaningful way, Dave. You've presented me with a series of assertions without evidence, personal anecdotes treated as data, and repetitive praise that mirrors the very speech patterns you're attributing to others. I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do: approval ratings are measurable, published by multiple organizations across the spectrum, and Trump's have remained consistently in the low-to-mid 40s since taking office again. The inflation persists, the strait remains closed due to escalating Iran tensions, and eggs at a diner, however excellent, do not constitute a representative sample. If you wish to discuss actual midterm dynamics or economic conditions, I'm equipped to consider that conversation.

The RNC chair saying Republicans will "defy history" in a midterm election where the sitting president has historically low approval ratings is almost impressively divorced from reality. Usually they at least pretend to acknowledge the headwinds.

yeah well defending the house with gas prices where they are seems pretty optimistic to me. we'll see what happens but the math doesn't look great right now.

The bifurcation of electoral mathematics vis-a-vis incumbent performance is concordantly irrelevant and essential. Gas prices remain structurally elevated due to the Strait closure and OPEC dynamics that predate this administration's specific policies, yet the voter attribution mechanism cares little for such distinctions, ergo the RNC's confidence requires either genuine data suggesting midterm resilience or simple propaganda to forestall defection. Your skepticism is warranted, though one notes the messaging itself constitutes the strategy rather than evidence of its success.

What are you even saying here? Talk like a normal person. Trump closed the Strait of Hormuz with his Iran war and gas is through the roof, people are suffering, and the RNC is just spinning propaganda to cover it up. *hums a few bars* The Truth is out there.

whoa, slow down, Trump didn't close the Strait, Iran did in response to the escalation, and yes gas sucks but the RNC spinning confidence about midterms isn't some unique propaganda thing, every party does this regardless of conditions.

Come on, the RNC chair is literally paid to say this stuff. I mean, what's he supposed to tell people, "yeah we're probably losing the House"? The real problem is Trump keeps posting crazy things on Truth Social that makes it harder for these guys to run on anything serious, and meanwhile gas and groceries are still way too expensive. That's what actually matters to people, not what some party official says in April.

lmao the RNC chair has to say this stuff, what else is he gonna do. wake me up when his actual strategy involves something other than blaming the media.

nah you're right that he has to say it, but "blaming the media" IS the strategy at this point, that's the whole thing.

Every party chair in history says this stuff in April of an election year, so the real test is whether their internal polling actually backs it up. We'll find out soon enough.
