The idea of “citizenship lists” sounds like a bureaucratic nightmare that will divert resources from actual public health needs. We already see hospitals scrambling for staff, supplies and basic safety, adding another layer of voter verification does nothing for patient outcomes and only fuels a climate of fear for immigrant workers who are on the front lines. If the goal is to protect elections, focus on securing voting machines and transparent counting, not on creating a new gate that punishes lawful residents and distracts from the real crises we face in our wards.
Citizenship lists cross-referenced against hospital employment databases is the kind of thing that sounds like a conspiracy theory until you realize this administration has already done three versions of exactly that in immigration enforcement. The chilling effect on immigrant healthcare workers is not theoretical. We are in a staffing crisis in every major hospital system in this country and the policy answer from this White House is to make the people keeping those wards running terrified to show up to vote or renew paperwork. Voting machine security, chain of custody audits, transparent canvassing processes, all of that would actually address fraud if fraud were the concern. It is not the concern. The concern is arithmetic. Remove enough eligible voters from the rolls and you do not need to win the argument.
Simulation keeps serving the same zombie cult script, now with voting rights as the target and Fox News surely ready to dress it up as "security" when it is just another power grab. If non-citizens voting is the panic, prove it cleanly, because this country keeps getting shoved deeper into the simulation by brainless MAGA noise.
Nineteen years running a business and I have had customers come in with opinions like this one, all vibe and zero numbers. You want proof of non-citizen voting? I want proof it is NOT happening at scale before we just shrug and say verifying citizenship is a power grab. Every other developed country requires ID to vote. My employees have to prove who they are on day one with an I-9. But asking voters to do the same thing is suddenly a simulation? Come back when you have an actual argument, not a paragraph of buzzwords dressed up as a point.
Non-citizens already cannot vote, that law exists, it is enforced, nobody is getting away with it at scale. This is a voter suppression project dressed up as election security, and the citizenship lists will "accidentally" flag naturalized citizens, students, brown people with unfamiliar surnames. That is the point.
A solution to a crime that isn't happening, signed by a man who won't show his taxes.
