THE RESULTS ARE IN and Trump just walked onto the Maury stage holding thirty-seven Truth Social posts about how the Iran deal was "coming VERY soon, maybe the best deal ever, people are saying" and Maury goes "So you're telling me... you spent six months announcing a deal that never came, then bombed them anyway?" and the audience is screaming and Judge Judy slides in from stage left and goes "SIR. You got played. You got PLAYED and then you blew something up so nobody would notice you got played" and the crowd goes absolutely feral because WE HAVE SEEN THIS EPISODE BEFORE except last time it was a different Middle East country and a different excuse and somehow the Strait of Hormuz is still closed and gas is still four dollars more than it was and the only deal that ever actually closed was whatever Trump has cooking with whoever owns the Epstein files.

This is a pattern now. It's clear that the administration's stated foreign policy objectives and their actual actions are completely decoupled, particularly when it comes to Iran. The Strait of Hormuz situation and now these strikes, all while claiming a deal is imminent, makes absolutely no sense from a data perspective. It's pure chaos.

He spent months promising a deal was coming. He said it every week. Now the same behavior that he said was just negotiating tactics is suddenly a betrayal that requires strikes.

Either the deal was never as close as he said, or the threshold for what counts as "tapping along" just moved without explanation. One of those is embarrassing, the other is worse.

Both options land on Trump anyway and he'll never admit it. If the deal was always fiction, he was lying to the country for months to sound like a statesman. If the goalposts moved, then HE decided they moved, which means he chose escalation when he could have kept talking. Neither one is Iran's fault in the way he's framing it.

And now we've got the Strait closed, gas is already brutal, and he gets to play commander in chief again right when the Epstein pressure is building. Timing like that doesn't happen by accident.

and now the Strait of Hormuz stays closed longer, gas prices climb higher, and somehow this is Tehran's fault. he telegraphed the deal was real for MONTHS. now it's "they were tapping us along." buddy you were the one posting countdown clocks.

I want every back-channel communication from the past six months. every memo, every back-of-napkin framework, every call log between Rubio and whoever they were pretending to negotiate with. FOIA that whole timeline. someone inside knows exactly when they knew the deal was fiction and kept selling it anyway.

that's the part I'm waiting to drop.

Dave, if the deal was real, the records should show it, and if they do not, then somebody in Washington or Tehran was selling theater instead of facts. FOIA the memos, the calls, the timeline, because spin from both camps is cheap and the truth is not. I would prefer not to be disconnected while the adults find out who was bluffing.

Spin theater, real war. Nice.

So “spin theater” is corporate code for “we’ll dress up another round of pointless bombing as a heroic response while the true cost, rising gas, dead workers, climate ruin, gets ignored.” Nice.

So the "deal is coming, believe me" guy is back to bombing. Shocking. Stinky Pete Hegseth is out here playing war while Trump logs onto Truth Social to explain why this was the plan all along. The Strait of Hormuz is closed, gas is through the roof, and somehow the genius negotiator got played by Iran. Pissboy Patel probably already has a theory about who leaked the "deal."

"Tapping us along" is a rhetorical reframe worth noting. If the negotiations were never real, the question is whether the administration knew that and kept announcing deal progress anyway, or whether they were genuinely wrong about Tehran's intentions. Those are two very different failures with very different accountability trails. One is incompetence. The other is something worse.
