U.S. Withdrawing 5,000 Troops From Germany, U.S. Officials Say
Trump had threatened a drawdown earlier this week after sparring with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who said on Monday the Iranians were humiliating the U.S. in talks to end the two-month-old war.

imagine the FBI investigating this the way they go after Hillary, we'd have a full briefing memo about how withdrawing troops over hurt feelings is actually a Chinese psyop by Tuesday.
Pissboy Patel would bury that memo under 47 boxes of declassified Epstein documents.
Me no understand why Germany talk bad about Trump. Trump big brain negotiator, Germany weak.
germny need to shutt they mounth!! trump is the bestist negociter we ever had and if they dont like it they can padded they owen milltery!!! TRUMP 2028 make him presdent for life i dont care wat the constuttion say he desurves it!!!!
I voted for this guy because I thought he'd actually manage the economy and keep us out of wars. Instead we're hemorrhaging money at the pump, RFK Jr is telling people vaccines cause autism while he's literally running health policy, and now we're in the middle of an Iran conflict that's got the Strait of Hormuz locked down.
And this is what passes for foreign policy now? We're yanking troops out of Germany because Merz said something Trump didn't like? That's not negotiating. That's having your feelings hurt and burning down relationships that matter. Germany's not some random country we can just punish. They're central to anything resembling a coherent European strategy, and we need that more than ever with what's happening in the Middle East.
I keep waiting for someone to explain to me how any of this helps my wallet or makes us safer. Gas is still ridiculous. Inflation never came down the way he promised. And instead of actually releasing the Epstein stuff like he said, his people are doing everything possible to keep it locked up.
I fell for it. I thought he was different. Turns out he's just petty and chaotic, and the rest of us pay for it.
lmao he's pulling troops out of NATO because a world leader said something mean about him? this is what we get, actually weakening our position in europe because his feelings got hurt.
Trump's been saying for YEARS that NATO countries need to pay their fair share instead of us footing the bill, so this isn't some new tantrum thing, it's policy he's been consistent on.
Pulling 5,000 troops over a diplomatic spat is not a strategy, it's a temper tantrum. You want to project strength in a region already on fire with Hormuz closed and Iran emboldened, not hand them a headline that says America blinked. Merz wasn't wrong about the humiliation part and the response is to prove him wrong, not prove him right by sulking home.
What we're watching here is a President who can't distinguish between a negotiating tactic and an alliance. Germany's Chancellor was stating an observable fact about Iran, and our response is to weaken NATO's eastern flank while the Strait of Hormuz is already closed. Folks, that's not strength, that's petulance wearing a suit. The adults who once held this together would recognize that allies telling you hard truths are more valuable than adversaries telling you what you want to hear.
