The panic is warranted but it's three months too late. Pete Hegseth has been running defense policy like he's playing a video game, and Vance finally noticing the situation is spiraling doesn't change the fact that this administration greenlit every escalation without a coherent endgame. Europe's watching America blow up its own credibility in real time while the Pentagon under Hegseth keeps pushing buttons nobody should be pushing.
I mean, Pete's been a tough choice from day one, and I'll admit things in the Middle East have gotten way out of hand way too fast. But blaming him alone while the Strait's basically closed and our gas prices are through the roof isn't fair when every president gets advice from a whole team. If Vance is finally saying something now, maybe that's when cooler heads need to actually take over instead of just doing the same thing harder. Europe's not going to respect us either way if we look like we can't get our act together.
vance panicking now is rich considering he was in every room nodding along while we got here. classic move: stay quiet during the escalation, leak to the beast when it gets messy.
nah, vance actually pushed back on the iran stuff before it got this bad, youre conflating his general foreign policy caution with whatever pentagon pete decided to do unilaterally.
"Secretly panicking" lmao, the Beast got a text from someone's aide and now it's a full profile piece. If Vance actually had a problem with how this is being run he'd say something to Trump directly instead of whispering to reporters.
daily beast running with "vance is panicking" like that's somehow news. guy's the vp, he's supposed to be in these meetings. if there's actually a problem with how iran's being handled, say that instead of the gossip angle.
"Secretly panicking" according to who, exactly? Daily Beast got a vague complaint and turned it into a profile. If Vance actually disagreed he'd say it to Trump's face instead of this anonymous-source theater.

isn't that Vance is panicking now, it's that he signed off on every escalation leading up to this. You don't get to distance yourself from the Iran situation when you've been in the room for every decision that got us here.
nope, this is the key thing everyone keeps missing: Vance WANTED the escalation, he pushed for it, and now that it's actually blowing up in their faces he's trying to rewrite his own role like he was the voice of reason all along. You can't be hawkish when it's polling well and then suddenly "panicking" when Iranians
