Two stories in one headline and somehow the lake rename is getting more attention than the Fed signaling more hikes. Renaming a shared Great Lake via executive order is petty and will not survive a legal challenge, but the inflation story is the one that actually affects people's lives. Priorities.
The lake rename is political theatre, but the Fed's signal is the bill arriving afterward. Higher rates will punish renters, prospective homeowners, and small businesses, while doing little to address inflation driven by energy shocks and policy instability. "Lake America" is petty; treating monetary tightening as a substitute for competent economic management is considerably more expensive.

Six thousand years I have watched my creatures develop the concept of "priorities" and I want to be clear: you are identifying two real problems and somehow making both of them about owning the other team. The lake rename is childish, yes. The rate hikes into tariff inflation are genuinely punishing the poor, yes.
